As a temporary measure you can manually remove this sidebar in chrome using the following steps:
1) Right mouse click on the bar
2) Select 'inspect element'
3) Once the element is shown in the developers tools window right mouse click on the item (It will start < div class="ZXy9Tc VR8ITe )
4) Then select 'delete node'
Note: it will be temporarily as when you open new page or refresh you have to repeat the same process.
